26 places I've eaten and have opinions about

Restaurant Martin
Santa Fe, NM
★★★★★
I had a wonderful meal with the Bourbon Vanilla Crème Caramel desert being the highlight. The staff were extremely knowledgeable about the wines, and service was truly great.
the Garage at Rye
Elmira, NY
★★★★★
I have always really enjoyed this place but since the started making pizza it has gone up a level. We enjoyed a garlic pizza and a pickle pizza(a weekly special) on the patio on a warm summer night. My wife really enjoyed the tequila flight she had also.
Sea Chef Dockside Kitchen
Nags Head, NC
★★★★★
3 in our group got the special, which was Grilled Red Drum, and everyone loved it. Shrimp Bisque and Crab BLT Sandwich were also hits. Service was very punctual even with being down a server. The chef delivered our kids' food and was very kind. This is a top restaurant in the area.
Santacafé
Santa Fe, NM
★★★★★
Amazing experience, wonderful service and delicious food. The apple acorn squash soup flavor was so unique and just perfect. I didn't get a picture of the soup but trust me it is the best. My wife got Vietnamese Lobster which she is now in love with. I got the bolognese and it was some of the best pasta I've had in Santa Fe. The Lemon cake comes with a marmalade that is out of this world. Update, I recently ate here again and got the filet. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly, but the suprise was the celery root puree. I was doubtful about ordering but it complimented the beef perfectly.
Fat Ox
Scottsdale, AZ
★★★★★
If this place doesn't have a James Beard already just give it one! If your gonna nitpick stuff I'd say the lighting could use some work(a bit too dark), the wine glasses are comically oversized, and the chairs are too short/not comfy.
El Farol
Santa Fe, NM
★★★★★
We went to one of the Friday night flamenco shows and it was extremely beautiful and entertaining. The entertainment really makes the high price worth it. The food was a selection from a prix fix. I had a pear salad, beef medallions, and key lime pie. All were really tasty, particularly the salad and medallions. The only thing I'd say wasn't too notch was the wine by the glass options.
Reunion 19
Austin, TX
★★★★★
Best food we had during our 4 days in Austin.
Pete's Dueling Piano Bar

Ben Michael's
Albuquerque, NM
★★★★★
Great views and drinks.
The Compound Restaurant
Santa Fe, NM
★★★★★
Best meal I've had at a restaurant in 4 years. Really wonderful quail, steak, and raspberry mousse.
Three Birds Restaurant
Corning, NY
★★★★☆
The kobe steak was phenomenal.
Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar
Washington, DC
★★★★☆
Sat at the bar, the service was fast and capable. This place is designed to be busy, lots of staff and the food came out fast. I was not expecting the food to be as delicious as it was. Cubano combo was better than I anticipated, based on the cheesy decor.
Rye
Elmira, NY
★★★★☆
Generally Rye is great, bottomless mamosas, shakshuka, brunch burger are all delicious. Unfortunately, I've had a few experiences, particularly with the smoked salmon Benedict and slow service that I can't give Rye 5 stars. I wish I could because it has a great menu and liquor selection but I just feel they could use 1 more wait staff. I've seen the owner present a few time and he is nice and helpful. Maybe spends too much time with guests at the expense of helping the staff.
Maple Lawn Dairy
Elmira, NY
★★★★☆
The food was the best breakfast I've had at a restaurant since moving to Elmira 6 months ago. The only reason I'm not giving 5-stars is because 2 tables around us arrived after us and were almost finished with their meals by the time we were served. I will definitely go back and will hopefully update this to a 5-star review.
Charlie's Cafe
Elmira, NY
★★★★☆
Azul Rooftop
Austin, TX
★★★★☆
Nice views. Not the best drink selection. Could use some misters.
Il Piatto Italian Farmhouse Kitchen
Santa Fe, NM
★★★★☆
The wine list is the best part about this restaurant. Recently had dinner here my partner's steak was delicious my Bolognese was OK. The atmosphere, wine, and service we're very good. Almost 5 stars but not quite.
Pajarito Brewpub and Grill
Los Alamos, NM
★★★★☆
Food is above average and decent beer selection.
Bobby Van’s Steakhouse
Washington, DC
★★★☆☆
There was a moth in my flatbread...
As Above, So Below Distillery
Santa Fe, NM
★★★☆☆
Look, the drinks are unique, way overpriced, and extremely Santa Fe. If that's your jam then this place is for you...
Eureka!
Austin, TX
★★★☆☆
Food was average. Service was fine.
1157 North
Elmira, NY
★★☆☆☆
I hate to give a review this negative. I think their cook has ruined their sense of taste through smoking. Everything was WAYYYY over salted, to the point of ruining the food. I've known a few chefs who smoke too much and they all over salt their food. Also the wine i ordered was corked...
The Cowboy Capital Saloon & Grill
Dodge City, KS
★★☆☆☆
The food was meh, I'm not usually 1 to complain about too much food but I ordered a chicken salad and it was HUGE. Like I ordered a salad for the purpose of watching calories...this must have been a 2k calorie salad. Also my chicken tasted a bit like fish, like cooked in the same oil? I ordered a double shot of whiskey and was given what seemed like less than 1 shot. The bartender seemed to be doing like 3 other jobs and was never behind the bar. The bar TV in front of me must have been broken since it was off, half the display lights for the liquor were off, some were flashing, some were white. The whole place seems to need someone to give it some TLC and attention to detail.
El Callejón Taqueria & Grill
Santa Fe, NM
★☆☆☆☆
The pork in my posole tasted canned. The tacos were just ok. Service was a bit slow.
